Additional $36.61M savings for BC health system

Four new contracts to provide health authorities with cardiac, renal dialysis, and operating room supplies will save the province’s health system $31.6 million over the next five years, and are in addition to the $57.5 million in savings announced earlier this year.
 

Health authorities save $57.5M through shared services

By combining the buying power of the province’s six health authorities, the BC Health Authority Shared Services Organization has achieved $57.5 million in savings through its first two procurement processes. The new contracts will provide all health authorities with cardiac supplies such as heart pacemakers and defibrillators and home oxygen services.


B.C. signs health purchasing agreement with Alberta

In order to maximize every health-care dollar spent, B.C. and Alberta have signed a joint purchasing agreement. The agreement will have the BC Health Authority Shared Services Organization and Alberta Health Services jointly award supply contracts to combine purchasing power and save more money to invest back into patient care.
