Health Authorities
The BC Health Authority Shared Services Organization represents a clear commitment from the health authorities and the Government of BC to deliver - more effectively and efficiently - common non-clinical services.
Health Authorities have worked hard since the early 2000s to collaborate where possible to reduce costs and improve services. While much has been achieved by individual health authorities and through health authority collaboration, there remain significant opportunities for the additional consolidation and/or integration of service delivery that could yield significant savings and improve system performance. For example, by following a collaborative approach to procurement we can combine the collective buying power of all health authorities.
SSO will develop opportunities for the health authorities to improve cost effectiveness by working collaboratively on common non-clinical services. By ensuring that we get the most value for every dollar spent, the health authorities will maximize the resources that go to direct patient care.
